Tir Conaill Academy - serving Tucson and Phoenix

The Tir Conaill Academy of Irish Dance first opened its doors in Tucson in January of 2005, under the direction of Christopher McGrory, TCRG and Rosemary Browne, TCRG. And, since that time, dancers have been streaming in at a steady pace! In the summer of 2007, the Tir Conaill Academy had the opportunity to merge with the McElligott-Gallagher School of Irish Dance in Phoenix, directed by Irish dance standout and Riverdance lead, Michael Patrick Gallagher, TCRG. As both male teachers are native to County Donegal in Ireland, it was natural to call the entire school TIR CONAILL, which is the ancient name for that part of Ireland. Now the largest and most successful Irish dance school in Arizona, the Tir Conaill Academy offers expert dance instruction for all ages at both Tucson and Phoenix locations.

Additionally, the Tir Conaill Academy of Irish Dance has been selected by both the University of Arizona and Arizona State University to participate in selected educational dance programs offered on their campuses.

The Tir Conaill Academy is a happy place where students work hard and have fun while learning the art of Irish dancing. The students have many opportunities to demonstrate their dancing skills when they perform for various local Phoenix and Tucson functions or when they compete in Irish dance competitions, called feiseanna, in Arizona, on the west coast, across North America and Canada, and even at the World Championships.

Our Mission Statement: The Tir Conaill Academy of Irish Dance is dedicated to promoting Irish culture throughout Phoenix and Tucson, through excellent instruction in the art of Irish dance.
